I've just deleted all the pictures in my gallery. I won't be posting my work at DA anymore. Interested parties can find all the same images on my website.
I'll still be visiting to see the work posted by people I am watching, make favorites, and leave comments.
Thanks to everyone who watched me, faved my work, left comments with encouragement, crits, etc. You're all the best. ^_^

It's not a potato, but...
I was gone for 15 years and now I'm going again. Seriously, this must have been the shortest return to a platform ever. Since I'm slow at art, I only managed to post three new deviations. As of now, that's three too many. In the spirit of @Stjepan-Sejic and his potatoes, I've replaced my original images with a senseless stand-in piece. It's just noise with a gradient overlay in my colors. Why did I do this? Because DA is going down the AI art path and even though they made that toggle that supposedly lets people opt-out, they are also building their own AI art thing. I'm not against AI-generated art per se. I've used generators before, and even have a piece of AI art as a stand-in cover for my book. What I don't agree with is using artwork without the artists' express consent to train the AI. In this case, with the way DA handled this rollout, I don't feel there's any trust left that they won't (or haven't already) scraped their user galleries to train their AI. So, once again, I'm
It's been 15 years...
Hey everyone! In 2006 I left DeviantArt because I wanted to concentrate on my website. But then, sometime in 2008, I stopped drawing because of some things that were going on in my life that just made it too difficult, which was really a shame. Actually, those things made it difficult for me to continue all of my hobbies, and in the end I did essentially nothing creative for a decade. Yeah. Ten years. Thankfully, in the last few years I've been able to restart my hobbies! Specifically, I've started seriously writing a book series called All Our Sins that some of my watchers here might remember used to be called "Heart of the Empire". It's a science fantasy/space opera about an alien race of people called årdrakin who are evolved from animals we would otherwise think of as dragons. The books deal with events surrounding an end-of-world prophecy and its aftermath. Right now I'm drafting the first book, The First Sin. The first three chapters are posted on my website, akairondragon.ca
